Grading Process

  1. Receive - When a submission is received, it is opened and compared to the submission paperwork and each card is assigned a serial number.

  2. Verification - The card(s) is passed off to the grader and is only identified by the serial number assigned to so that the grader does not know the identity.

  3. Authentication - A card is first reviewed for authenticity. If there is a question in this stage, the card will be rejected for grading.

  4. Grading - A card is analyzed using a number of tools and a grade is assigned and a label is created.

  5. Encapsulation - The card and label is then inserted into the card slab and sealed with an ultrasonic welder. We have a number of security features and special marks with the labeling and holder to guard against counterfeiting and tampering.

  6. Imaging - Images of all graded cards are taken and uploaded into our database.

  7. Quality Control - The card, label, and case are reviewed for accuracy and defects.

  8. Packaging & Shipping - The encapsulated card is checked against the original submission paperwork. Cards are secured and shipped back to the submitter.
