Grading Process
- Receive - When a submission is received, it is opened and compared to the submission paperwork and each card is assigned a serial number.
- Verification - The card(s) is passed off to the grader and is only identified by the serial number assigned to so that the grader does not know the identity.
- Authentication - A card is first reviewed for authenticity. If there is a question in this stage, the card will be rejected for grading.
- Grading - A card is analyzed using a number of tools and a grade is assigned and a label is created.
- Encapsulation - The card and label is then inserted into the card slab and sealed with an ultrasonic welder. We have a number of security features and special marks with the labeling and holder to guard against counterfeiting and tampering.
- Imaging - Images of all graded cards are taken and uploaded into our database.
- Quality Control - The card, label, and case are reviewed for accuracy and defects.
- Packaging & Shipping - The encapsulated card is checked against the original submission paperwork. Cards are secured and shipped back to the submitter.
